Weeks 21 Through 25

Week 21

April 7: Discussion turns to a column in the Lincoln paper by Bruce McLean in which he explains economics, and Talbott questions the authority of the man who has not explained where the millions of dollars MAGIC spent has actually gone. He goes on to talk about the Bangor News article about Matt Polstein's Twin Pines. He reads Wayne Curlew's letter which was in the KP, and follows up with Alyce Maragus's article, "Two Sides To Every Coin".

April 8: Talbott reads from Alyce's column entitled "Everyone Except for MAGIC Is To Blame". He discusses the grooming of the trails, and talks about the fact that the Twin Pines Snowmobile Club, which got the grooming contract from the town in 2002, was not incorporated until 2004. He then reads to the audience the Maine state conflict of interest law.

April 9: Chuck Cushman, founder of American Land Rights Association discusses the situation in Millinocket and the Katahdin Region and describes how the very same situation is playing out all over the country. He points out that MAGIC is not the only special interest groups tied to the environmental groups, and that the problem has been fought and won all over the country.

April 10: Talbott reads from the Comments section of the Bangor Daily article about Matt Polstein's Twin Pines, and from a letter from Sen. Susan Collins to Alyce Maragus, (Page 2 here) in which Collins explains...nothing at all. He expounds upon the apparent illegalities of Councilor Matthew Polstein taking money and snow grooming equipment while sitting on the Millinocket Town Council and on the Governor's Snowmobile Funding Advisory Trails Committee.
